Background

I started on an SCA family recipe book a long time ago (I still had a Mac then, so it must be circa 1993). It was to be called Dai Libri Privati di Cucine dei Padroni di Casa della Tenaglia di Leone, which I'm told translates into From the Private Cookbooks of the Householders of the House of the Lion's Claw.

Well, that was a long time ago, and the book never came about. But I've always liked the idea of being able to give people access to my recipes, since so many of them get asked for (or used to). That meant typing in all of the recipes, though, a task which I have always been daunted by. But, I keep misplacing my own copies, so it is becoming necessary, so that I may print out a new copy whenever I need one<G>.

This past Christmas, a friend's wife asked me for copies of the recipes for the cookies I had given them, so I finally got around to putting some up in html (I figured if I was going to type these in, I may as well do it right!). So, this page was born.

A couple of weeks later, I asked Will if he would like this to be a shared site, so that he can add his recipes, too. He liked the idea, so we changed the name, changed the buttons, and added more recipes. Enjoy! - joe

We do not pretend to know anything with regards to copyrights, especially when it comes to something like recipes. We would think that they are very difficult things to copyright, because almost everyone changes something when they pass recipes around (at least most of ours are changed from the "original" recipes). We would imagine that most of the recipes here are based on someone's old newspaper clippings. But we have no way of knowing the original source to every recipe we have ever asked for.

It is not our intention, however, to knowingly publish someone else's copyrighted work without giving them credit for it. The best that we can do is to ask that if you have any information on any copyrights that we are infringing on, please pass it along ASAP, so that we may check into it and correct the situation if necessary.
